What to Keep and What to Throw During Office Removals
Published on Friday, 01 January 2010
Probably, one of the most crucial questions you ask yourself during an office removal is: "What should I keep and what should I throw away?" Answering that question may be as difficult as answering a philosophical inquiry, but you can actually spare yourself the trouble by following these 2 quick tips:
1. Take Time to Make a List. You may write two lists. The first one is for your office. Here, you can make a table where you can write the things you ought to keep at the right side and the things you should throw away on the opposite side. The things you should keep are things that are considered as "essentials" in your office, like, boards, pens, bond papers, clips, printers and contracts. On the other hand, the things you should throw away are unnecessary things that only occupy space and those that are already defective, like a dysfunctional scanner.
On your personal list, you may put the things you can take home because you're office does not need them anymore. If you will do this, you may want to consult your boss first.
2. Talk to Your Boss. Show the final list you made to your boss and ask him what he thinks about it. He may ask for revisions and additions. You should edit accordingly.
Do these two answer your question? Hopefully, they did. If you want to try them first, by all means, start now.
