The Do's and Don'ts of Moving and All You Need to Know
Published on Wednesday, 14 April 2010
When it is time to say goodbye to your old apartment, don't fret. Good things and opportunities await you in your new place. As you enter into a new rental agreement, you will encounter old and new rules. But, before you leave your old landlord, be sure that you leave in good terms.
Going to other equally important things, to avoid misunderstanding you have to inform your landlord about your plan to move. A one month notice will give your landlord a grace period to look for a new tenant. Your landlord deserves answers and a letter of notice stating your reason of the move will give him justice. This way, your landlord can also settle your deposits.
As for your new landlord, you have to deal with the new agreement and before affixing your signature, make sure that all rules and terms are favourable and legally binding. Like what you did before, you have to check
everything before moving in. Don't move in if there is something unclear about the contract. Both parties, you as the tenant and your new landlord should have perfect understanding of the signed contract so that you will live in harmony in your new place.
