Shopping Around For Movers
Published on Friday, 25 December 2009
The moving company you hire in your move, whether it be for a home move or an office move, is a very important part of the whole relocation process.
Movers can either make an already stressful, tiring, and tedious exercise much more hellish, or help ease the worry and stress you've been suffering from
as the moving day draws near.
When looking for the right movers, you should always research a lot first before making a decision. Don't just pick one out of the directory or the yellow pages. Compare prices and rates scopes of services, and make a shot list of companies that seem right for you. You then make more detailed inquiries personally, through mail or email, or through the telephone.
It is also very important to look at the reputation of the company before hiring them. Do they surprise you with extra fees when the bill arrives? Do they handle your packages carefully? You also need to see whether a removals company has insurance and whether or not they have enough experience, especially if you have special items or are moving cross country.
Lastly, review your final contract and pay attention to the fine print. Make sure that you understand all the terms and conditions stipulated in the agreement before you affix your signature, so as to avoid any misunderstandings and complications in the future. Also ask for a copy of the contract.
