Moving the DIY Way
Published on Thursday, 04 February 2010

For some people who don't really have big moves, doing things the ?do it yourself' way is a good way to save a lot of money
on hiring movers. All you need
is a van and yourself, and the knowledge of how to get to your destination. Plus, all that
lifting and moving around is a good workout too. Of course, renting a truck might seem easy, but the best kind of companies are those that not only offer you a truck plus other equipment like trolleys to make your move run smoother. They also need to have a good reputation, and of course, their trucks need to be well maintained and in good condition. You don't want to get into any accidents or have the truck break down when you're halfway to your destination. You can either look for companies through the yellow pages or through the internet - make a short list of possible candidates and then make more detailed inquires - wither through the phone, through email, or visit their office directly yourself. You can also try to get referrals from people you know who've also moved by themselves or through internet forums or discussions boards on the web.
