Finally, you'll be out of your old apartment and will now move to a bigger space. However, just before you get so excited to move, there are certain things that you need first. You see, the landlord will allow another person or family to rent your old place. And he wants your old apartment to be free of any damages.
That is why you need to have a detailed move-in and move-out inspection report. This will prove that you have took care of the unit well while you are there. But there are the so-called ?wear and tear? that you are not liable for.
Most laws will define a normal ?wear and tear? as any deterioration caused by using a thing. It includes the breakage and malfunction of the thing because of constant use.
But the normal ?wear and tear? excludes deterioration caused by negligence, abuse, and accident.
Of course, if you claim the thing's deterioration is caused by normal ?wear and tear,? you should be able to back it up with pieces of evidence. That is when the move-in and move-out inspection come into the scene. These pieces of evidence will surely save you tons of time and money in case your landlord filed a case against you. For sure, with the pieces of evidence you have, you surely can protect yourself well.
