How to Prepare for a Successful Open House When you are trying to sell your house, the main objective of the open house is to showcase your house to make potential buyers interested on it. So, it is imperative that you show the best sides of the house. Statistics show that first impressions of the house actually sell the house for you. So, you should start right at the entrance. You should make sure the yard is clean. Plants and trees need to be trimmed so they will look tidy. A little landscaping would surely help too. If there is chipped paint on the exteriors, you may want to repaint the house. If not, you could at least make sure that the exterior looks clean and homey. Of course, people would also get inside the house so the interiors should be as clean and as homey as possible. Carpets and furniture should be dusted and vacuumed thoroughly. Personal belongings should put out of the way during the open house. Halls should be clear as well. Minor repairs should also be done in order to make the house more attractive to buyers. Torn screens should be fixed and chipped paint should be attended to. The kitchen and the toilets should have no leaks at all. These areas should be clean too. Garbage is a no-no as well. Many homeowners use stagers to handle their open house for them. But if you don't have the budget for one you can ask the help of a realtor to give you tips and evaluation of the place before the open house. MORE NEWS AND TIPS
