It's advisable to pack your home by rooms. So when inside the room, setup your area for packing immediately. It's usually at the middle of the room so you can reach everything at approximately the same distance. Have your packing materials near your table though to make your packing quicker. You can generally start packing at any spot of the room. From your starting point, you can move clockwise so you will not miss packing certain areas of the room. Remember to put heavier things inside the box first so they will not crush lighter things. Make sure items are fitted inside the box. Delicate items should be individually packed though so they can be better protected. For instance, you should wrap plates individually first and stack them into the box. There should be enough bubble wrap in between so they will not easily break. The box should be well padded at the bottom and on the sides. For other breakables, using packing peanuts or crumpled newsprints to avoid shifting inside the box would be ideal. As long as items do not bump each other inside box and each is well protected, there is less danger of breaking anything. Don't forget to label the box too. Indicate where it should go and the contents as well. This will help guide the movers in unloading and help you organize your things faster later on.
