How to Do a Move the Green Way

Published on Monday, 30 November 2009

Sure moving
is quite stressful already. But this does not mean that you should just forget about saving the environment. Even in packing and moving, you will be able to save the planet. Every little thing counts and makes a difference.

The Green Option

For instance, your choice of packing materials could make important contributions already. If you use old newsprint instead of buying packing peanuts, not only do you save money but you save the planet as well. By using biodegradable materials you minimize pollution and take better care of the earth.

Recycle Helps Save the Earth

If you have to, you can buy packing peanuts but at least choose the Styrofoam over the plastic ones. Styrofoam per se is also not good but it can be recycled into something else. You could use is as a potpourri by spraying some fragrances on it, for example. And if for some reason you end up with plastic packing peanuts, make sure you hand them down to the mail center so other people will be able to use them. As long as they keep on getting used a few more times, you still prevent a lot of pollution as well.

Furthermore you could use removal companies that actually use green vehicles and green packing materials. Doing so may seem a very small thing. But if everyone will do this, a greater impact can be achieved.
