Published on Saturday, 14 November 2009

While some
tasks in moving can both be tedious and boring, the exciting part is organizing your new home. It starts out with planning for the new look and of course, shopping for new furniture and accessories. Nevertheless, the boring chores cannot be avoided if you want to move. Just make sure that you pack your things using appropriate boxes and you do it properly. Then to prevent damage while in transit, always place the heaviest box at the bottom and the lightest one on top. Before getting to your new house though make sure you already have the contact numbers of the handy man. For instance, you would need a plumber in the future. You should also know a good cleaner, a reliable milkman and a good decorator. It would even be better if you already know a good doctor and dentist for you and your children. A good source of information would be the previous owners of the house. Then in decorating the house, have a sketch of the layout so you won't have to keep on shifting big furniture. Take measurements of the area so you will know if the furniture you have in mind will fit the space. This will also be useful if you decide to buy new furniture. If you have a smaller place but want to add a décor or two, one great idea is to place mirrors. This will surely make any room look bigger. If you want to save money, search in junk shop or antique shops instead of using cheap mirrors. For instance you can find frames there and replace the picture with good mirrors. This would enhance the look of your new home. And best of all you won't have to spend too much on it.
