No matter how excited you are to live in your new home, control your enthusiasm and refrain from tossing all your items into boxes that are either too small or too big. Here are some tips you can use to have an organized packing when preparing for a move. 1. Begin packing ahead of moving day. If possible, pack one room at a time. Start with items that you use least often like books, last season clothing other decorative accents in your home. 2. Make an inventory of all the belongings that will be packed. Don't forget to note which item is in which box. 3. Select sturdy boxes. Fill the box to the rim so you can easily stack boxes on top of one another. 4. Secure the flaps with packing tape to ensure a tight seal. 5. Place heavy items on the bottom and lighter ones on top. Make sure you have a balance of light and heavy items in each box so you can lift them easily and safely. 6. Bubble wrap and crumpled papers provide cushion for fragile items. Remember to label boxes with breakable items ?fragile' so movers will know which box should be handled with extra care 7. Label each box according to the room it belongs to. 8. Pack a separate box where you can place the things you may need for your first night in your new home. This box shall include toiletries, bottled water, snacks and some clothes in case you can't unpack everything on time.
